Takeshi Sano, MD, PhD, FRCS. Hospital Director, Cancer Institute of Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research.
He graduated from University of Tokyo in 1980. After Research at Institute Curie, Paris, he worked as gastric surgeon at National Cancer Center Tokyo for 15 years and moved to Cancer Institute. He is in the current position since 2018. He conducted several pivotal clinical trials in Japan Clinical Oncology Group (JCOG). He served as council for JGCA and IGCA playing central roles in establishing cancer classifications and treatment guidelines.
